Accommodation rules

1. DEPOSIT AND OTHER CHARGES, INFRACTIONS

1.1 DEPOSIT, REFUND OF DEPOSIT

1.1.1 A deposit is a refundable monetary guarantee provided by a student to the school at the time of check-in no later than 7 days from the date of check-in and is paid by bank card or in cash. Anytime the deposit decreases for any reason (payments are made from it according to the present rules), it must be restored in full within 1 week.

1.1.2 The deposit will be returned 2 (3) months after your departure from the school apartment.

This is due to the fact that the final utility bill arrives at the school once every 2 (3) months and we will then be able to see your actual expenses for the current month, much later than when you leave the apartment. If the utility bill exceeds the amount covered by your monthly payment, an additional fee will be charged or deducted from your deposit.

1.2 OTHER PAYMENTS

1.2.1 If the cleaning lady has to wash her dishes due to a mess in the kitchen, her overtime will be deducted from her deposit.

1.2.2 In the event of a clogged sink, the plumbing work will be paid for from your deposit.

1.2.3 If requested, our staff can clean your room for an extra fee.

1.2.4 If requested, for a fee, you may have a guest overnight after agreement with the school and with the consent of your flatmates.

1.3 INFRACTIONS

In case of non-compliance with the rules for visitors (see clause 2.1) for the first time, you will be subject to a fine of 100 euros, in case of repeated violation, you will be evicted from the apartment without a refund of the remaining funds for lodging and deposit.

2. RESTRICTIONS

2.1 GUESTS

2.1.1 It is not allowed to bring guests without informing the neighbors and the school.

2.1.2 It is forbidden to leave your guests overnight without the consent of the school (see clause 1.2.4)

In case of infraction, you will be fined, and in case of repeat offense, you will be evicted (see clause 1.3)

2.1.3 It is forbidden to have parties in the apartment. In Spain, this is prohibited and neighbors can call the police, which can result in a significant fine.

2.1.4 The common areas are not allowed to be used (cookign or showering), make noise after 11:00 p.m.

2.1.5 It is forbidden to smoke in the apartment and drink alcohol in the common areas of the apartment

2.1.6 it is forbidden to throw anything out of the windows

2.2 RESOURCES: LIGHT, GAS, WATER, HEATING, APPLIANCES

It is necessary to responsibly make use of electricity, gas, water, electrical appliances and maintenance of cleanliness.

2.2.1 LIGHT

Turn off the lights when you are not in the room or in common areas. Turn off the stove and all electrical appliances when you leave the house.

2.2.2 HEATING

The heating should be turned on only at temperatures below 10-15 degrees outside. It is prohibited to use a kitchen stove (gas or electric) as a space heater.

2.2.3 WATER

It is not allowed to leave the faucets open. It is recommended to shower no more than 2 times a day and no more than 15-20 minutes.

2.2.4 APPLIANCES

It is recommended to use the washing machine no more than 2 times a week (once for personal items and once for bedding if you wash it yourself).

Use a full load (for example: don’t wash just a few items, get enough to fill the load).

It is forbidden to wash sports shoes in the washing machine, the washing machine is designed ONLY for washing clothes.

2.2.5 MAINTENANCE OF ORDER IN THE ROOM AND IN THE COMMON AREAS OF THE APARTMENT:

It is necessary to maintain order in all common areas:

• It is necessary to wash the dishes and tidy up the kitchen immediately after use.

• All the occupants of the apartment must take turns to throw the garbage every day. Garbage collection time is from 8:00 p.m.

Residents buy their own plastic garbage bags. The school does not buy them.

• You must keep your room clean. The cleaning of your room is not included in the rental price. If requested, our staff can do it for an extra fee.

• It is not allowed to use the common areas (for cooking or showering), making noise after 11:00 p.m.

• It is forbidden to smoke in the apartment and drink alcohol in common areas.

• it is forbidden to throw anything out of the windows

2.2.6 FURNITURE

For health reasons, in order to reduce the possibility of insects entering the apartment, it is prohibited to bring and place any furniture in the apartment that does not belong to the school. In exceptional cases, a student may, with written permission from the school, purchase new furniture. In case of violation of this paragraph, the student may be evicted without a refund of the remaining paid fees and deposit.

3. SECURITY, VIDEO SURVEILLANCE, ROOM INSPECTIONS

For your safety, audio-video surveillance is carried out in the common areas and the apartment and your room are inspected periodically.

3.1 VIDEO-AUDIO SUPERVISION

For security reasons, audio and video surveillance cameras are installed in the common areas of the apartment. In addition, the cameras allow warning of lights that do not go out on time in common areas when there is no one.

3.2 FLOOR INSPECTION

For security and maintenance reasons, the rooms can be inspected periodically (no more than 2 times a month).

In case of emergency (fire, flood, smoke and other cases that require an urgent visit to the room), the school reserves the right to enter the room without the permission or presence of the tenant. In this case, at least two people must be involved with a mandatory video recording of everything that happens in the room – two representatives of the school, or a representative of the school and one of the apartment’s neighbors.
