BCNLIP is a language center located in the heart of Barcelona. In our extensive English courses, we cover all four skills (speaking, listening, writing, and reading), with a particular emphasis on speaking. We employ a communicative method so that you can practice and apply English in everyday situations right from the first day of class.

Our school is the ideal place to learn another language because from day one, you will be immersed in an international atmosphere. Your classmates come from all over the world, and through our events and activities, you’ll have the opportunity to practice the language you’re studying. Enrollment is now open for the following groups:

1. LEVEL A1 

   Hours: Mondays and Wednesdays, 7 to 8:50 p.m. (4 hours/week)

2. LEVEL A2

   Hours: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 7 to 8:50 p.m. (4 hours/week)

3. LEVEL B2

   Hours: Mondays and Wednesdays, 7 to 8:50 p.m. (4 hours/week)

  – The student may start at any given month, as long as their level fits the group

Teacher: Alice Doran

Born in London, raised in Wales. She graduated with a BA in Politics and International Relations before completing a Masters in Legal and Political Theory from University College London. Throughout her life she has worked with children and after studying she did an internship at a Montessori school to understand more about this philosophy of “teach me to teach myself”. She did a Diploma in Montessori education and ran her own class for 7 years in various multilingual environments both in London and in Barcelona, which she found to be a beautiful experience. Whilst studying Spanish she became passionate about how we learn languages and decided to do a CELTA course and become an English teacher for adults. She believes that we learn best in environments where we feel supported and are given the tools to develop ourselves.

Teacher: Lucas Principe

I was born in Buffalo, USA, a city with a strong and kind character. Later, I moved to Boston, where I studied analytical philosophy. Meanwhile, I continued teaching English to new immigrants. I relocated to Barcelona in 2022 with the intention of perfecting my Spanish. Therefore, I know how challenging it is to learn a foreign language, especially when coming from a monolingual family or culture. My goal is to convince my students that with enough effort and hard work, they can achieve more than they had imagined.

About the school

BCNLIP Language School is a language institution founded in 2008. Our name, BCNLIP, succinctly captures the teaching philosophy we aim to convey: Barcelona Language Immersion Programs. In these programs, students learn by fully experiencing the language in all its dimensions.
