Barcelona language schools unite to help healthcare professionals and patients
Solidarity campaign provides free language services to healthcare providers and patients during the coronavirus pandemic.
During the pandemic caused by the COVID-19 outbreak in Spain, some Spanish hospitals have been facing an added obstacle: communication difficulties between healthcare professionals and patients who don’t speak any of the official languages of Spain and are unable to communicate their symptoms. To help in these cases, six language schools in Barcelona and Castelldefels have created a solidarity campaign called #EstamosContigo, which will provide free online and WhatsApp language services to hospitals that request it.
The purpose of this campaign is to be able to help hospitals and health centers as well as foreigners who find it difficult to express themselves in Spanish at the hospitals. For this reason, we are open to connecting with any association or group that needs interpreters.
