🏘 Last Friday on immersion class we visited the neighborhood of Poblenou and today we’ll tell you a bit about its history.
🏭 When the textile industries began establishing throughout the 19th century, the neighborhood turned into the area with the most factories in Catalonia and started being called “the Catalan Manthester”.
⚒ After having its shore remodeled for the Olympics and also the incentive generated by 22@ – a project that intends to promote the area as ideal for tech companies – Poblenou has become trendy: residential buildings are in conflict with gentrification, many coworking spaces for startups and organic restaurants.
