13 May Immersion: Modernism
😍 Last Friday on immersion class we got to know some Modernist buildings in Barcelona and today we share with you more pictures from that experience and also a bit of what one of our students, Anmol, learned last Friday:
“As an example of Modernism we have the famous Casa Batlló, built in 1904. The style seems more creative and flexible to me. There are no straight lines – instead, they use curves that show an influence by nature. The buildings tell you a story, like Casa Battló tells the legend of Sant Jordi and the dragon. Artisans played a major role in the movement, combining artisanal techniques and the latest technological innovations in order to get the most out of the carpentry, ceramics, iron and glass.”
📷 Thanks to @mamuthiking, who took the pictures on this post, and to Sahar, who took the photos we published on Monday.
