8 Jul What I learned last Friday

🌾 Last Friday on immersion class we visited the Vallvidriera swamp, which was built in the mid-19th century in order to supply water for Villa de Sarrià. Throughout the 20th century the swamp fell into oblivion. In 2006 it was entirely renovated in order to preserve the park’s local flora and fauna. It currently shelters an outstanding population of amphibians – among them the reniega, a native species from the Collserola. You can also find wild pigs like the one in the picture.
