Today we’re going to study the first conjugation in Spanish, the one with verbs ending in -AR, like “hablar”. Do you know it?
In order to conjugate it we must eliminate the -AR ending and then add either -O, -AS, -A, -AMOS, -ÁIS, -AN, according to the person you’re referring to. The part that doesn’t change, on this case HABL-, is called the verb’s root.
Conjugation for the verb HABLAR results in yo hablo, tú hablas, él/ella/usted habla, nosotros/nosotras hablamos, vosotros/vosotras habláis, ellos/ellas/ustedes hablan.
Now it’s your turn! Can you conjugate the verbs “trabajar” and “estudiar”? Do you know any other verbs in Spanish with the -AR ending?
