22 Feb Grammar tip

The past few weeks we studied the conjugation and use of the verb GUSTAR, Remember it’s a verb that only has two forms: GUSTA and GUSTAN.
We use GUSTA to talk about things in singular form (el rojo, el azul, el cine…) and to talk about actions (estudiar español, vivir en España…). We use GUSTAN to talk about a plural noun: las camisetas, los españoles o las montañas. Today we’ll continue studying this peculiar verb. Do you know its degrees? Let’s study them!
We can say: me gusta mucho, me gusta bastante, me gusta, me gusta un poco, no me gusta, no me gusta nada. It’s important to pay attention to the negative phrase and the position of the elements: No me gusta nada el color azul.
In Spanish, there may be a double denial: NO + VERBO + NADA. No me gusta nada, no viajo nada, no trabajo nada…
Please remember that NADA is a quantifier that emphasizes the denial.
