1 Feb Bcnlip: safe school

We won’t publish Friday pictures today because, as you know, we’ve had to cancel the excursion last minute.
We’d like to explain a bit about what happened and remind you of some very important issues for the proper functioning of the school. Last Thursday at 9:30 pm we received a call from Noelia saying one of her students had tested positive. It was quite stressful: we had to cancel the excursion last minute and e-mail everyone about what had happened.
Some of you did not see the e-mail on time and showed up the next day, however. Both the teachers and the students in the group where the Covid-positive student studies will have to be confined for 10 days since their last contact. Both the cancellation of the activity and the confinement are expected measures, something we have to live with in these times.
The one thing we did not expect, though, was that the student would attend the school with certain symptoms (cough), even though she knew that one of her roommates had tested positive. A few days went by since she informed us about her result – precisely last Thursday night, just hours before the excursion. We understand it might be difficult for you to follow some security protocols – especially if you’ve just arrived from a foreign country – but please, if any of you has been in direct contact with a Covid-positive person, you must take the test immediately and warn the school about your results, so we can take the necessary precautions.
This isn’t meant to mark anyone out, but to learn from the mistake and avoid situations like that to happen again. We are also part of that miscommunication and it has taught us more about the importance of being well connected in moments like these. Remember, WE ARE A TEAM. The good new is that everyone in Noelia’s group has tested negative, so the school still remains a safe space. Let’s move on.
