Our campus in the heart of the Gothic Quarter: Avinyó Street, 50

BCNLIP is located in the heart of Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter, an area of great historical, artistic, and social value that reflects the city’s cultural diversity. This location is especially meaningful for our students, who choose to learn Spanish to integrate into a lively, international urban context. Many of them live in the neighborhood itself or nearby, which fosters constant linguistic and cultural immersion.

The Gothic Quarter is a meeting point for local residents, visitors, and international communities. In this setting, BCNLIP not only draws on the neighborhood’s cultural richness but also actively participates in its social and cultural life through the BCNLIP Foundation, organizing routes, projects, and public activities that connect language learning with Barcelona’s history and daily life.

The school has a main center and two classroom buildings, located in historic buildings carefully renovated and adapted for language teaching. In total, 17 classrooms equipped with hybrid technology (cameras, screens, microphones, and WiFi) allow simultaneous interaction between in-person and online students.

  • The main center, at Avinyó Street, 50, has four spacious classrooms, a study room and library, a meeting room, and an administrative area with computers for the teaching staff.
  • Classroom Building 1, at Comtessa de Sobradiel, 4, has six classrooms, a mezzanine for teachers with computers, a photocopier and rest area, as well as the academic director’s office. One classroom preserves authentic remains of Barcelona’s Roman wall, visible to students and visitors.
  • Classroom Building 2, at Medinaceli Street, 6, has seven classrooms and a rest and work area for teachers with a computer, lockers, and teaching materials.

All spaces have air conditioning, heating, ventilation with air filters, and ongoing maintenance that ensures comfort and sustainability. They also have rest areas with a coffee bar, microwave, and refrigerator, and restrooms adapted according to current regulations.

The overall aesthetic combines historical elements with a warm, natural design: eco-friendly wood, soft lighting, plants, works of art, and the school’s corporate colors. This harmony between tradition and modernity creates a welcoming, functional learning environment consistent with BCNLIP’s educational spirit.

Library and study spaces at the school

At the Avinyó school you have access to a library collection with works in Spanish and other languages, as well as manuals for learning and teaching Spanish as a foreign language (ELE). We also have some audiovisual works.

The first reading space is right at the school entrance. There you’ll find a large wooden table, very comfortable armchairs, and a bench where you can sit to read or review in peace.

Additionally, in the hallway toward the classrooms there are three more reading or study stations, each with its own seat. At reception you can consult the catalog and get information about the lending service.

The second reading space is in Room 7. This place is used for tutorials or enrollments between 11:00 and 17:00, and outside those hours (from 9:00 to 11:00 and from 17:00 to 21:00) it functions as a space for learning, reading, or unwinding.

In this room you’ll find study recommendations, access to the library collection, and also information about other reading spaces in the city.

The book lending service is available through a simple system: a prior deposit of €20 is required, which will be returned once the borrowed material is delivered in good condition and within the established time period.

We invite all students to make use of these resources, designed to support your learning and academic well-being.
