⛰️ The Montjuïc mountain has been inhabited in a more or less continuous way since pre-historic days. On top of it lies the Montjuïc Castle, considered a historic heritage in Spain.

🏰 Before the castle, on this very part of the mountain there was a lighthouse, which was later fortified. The fort was converted into a castle in 1694 and survived wars and invasions – including the one by Napoleon’s troops in 1808.
👮‍ Many people have also been incarcerated there, like the anarchist workers involved in an attack in the late 19th century and, also, those arrested during the Tragic Week, about which we learned in January’s immersion classes.
