15 Feb Grammar tip

Last week we studied the conjugation of the verb GUSTAR. We’d like to remind you that this verb is only used in two forms: GUSTA and GUSTAN. It changes according to either singular or plural rather than to the person.
Today we’ll study this peculiar verb. Do you know the use we give it in Spanish?
We use the form GUSTA if what we like is a singular word: el rojo, el azul, la fruta, el cine… For example: A mí me gusta el amarillo.
We use the form GUSTAN when we talk about a plural noun: las camisetas, los españoles, las montañas… For example: Me gustan las camisetas negras.
We use the singular form GUSTA when we talk about an action: estudiar español, escribir, vivir en España… For example: Me gusta mirar camisetas.
You’ll find this and much more in the Spanish grammar guide we’re preparing. Now it’s your turn: can you use the verb GUSTAR? Can you tell in Spanish the things you like? See you in the comments!
