To be able to offer services as a taxi driver in the Metropolitan Area of Barcelona (AMB), it is necessary to possess the professional credentials granted by the AMB-Instituto Metropolitano del Taxi.
If the applicant comes from a country whose language(s) differ from Catalonia's, they will have to present:
The original certification B1 (CEFR) of one of the two official languages in Catalonia.
The original certification A2 (CEFR) for the other official language.
The AMB recognises BCNLIP as a certified examination centre to deliver the B1 certificate.
When can I take the Test?
Preferably Fridays in the morning, but you can come by the school anytime to take the test (we are open Mon-Fri from 9:00am to 9:00pm) Naturally, it is better to make an appointment beforehand to facilitate the process. Depending on your knowledge, we usually give you a mock exam for free, to see if you have the required level. If you do not have the required level, we recommend you take a course with us to achieve it.
How much does it cost?
It costs €50.
Which documents do I need to bring the day of the Test?
Any piece of official ID, be it passport or NIE.
What is the test about?
The exam consists of 4 parts: a grammar part with 40 questions, a reading comprehension part with 7 True/False questions, a writing part and a speaking part.
How is it marked?
You have to get 60% or above in the grammar part, 80% in the reading part and meet the B1 standard for the writing and speaking tasks. The result is given as Fit or Unfit.
When do I get the result?
On the very same day.
